Giving Back to Residents with More In Return™

One of the greatest hurdles with a traditional pay-as-you-throw program is that residents may see the price they are paying for the special imprinted trash bags as a tax or one more thing they have to pay for. But it doesn't have to be that way.

WasteZero has designed a unique program - called More in Return™ - where our partner cities and towns actually "give back" to residents some or all of the revenue generated from the sale of the town's customized imprinted trash bags.

Eligible Resident List Determined

The municipality shares a list of eligible residents with WasteZero to begin to communicate the program.

Funds Calculated

At the end of year one, the funds – based on the revenues generated from the sale of WasteZero Trash Metering™ bags – are calculated, and the amount due to each household is determined.

Pre-Paid Cards Distributed to Eligible Households

WasteZero and the municipality work together to distribute debit cards to eligible households.

Program Information Available to Residents

A community-specific web page will be set up for residents to check the progress of their program, as well as provide a support process for questions, issues, and inquiries.

This unique program, offered only by WasteZero, provides unmatched flexibility to cities and towns implementing a next-generation pay-as-you-throw program. As a WasteZero Trash Metering™ partner community with More in Return™, you can use the savings and revenue generated from your program to support your local schools, maintain roads and parks, fund emergency services, or share with residents. It's up to you and the needs of your individual community.
